VisuAlgo was conceptualised in 2011 by Dr Steven Halim as a tool to help his students better understand data structures and algorithms, by allowing them to learn the basics on their own and at their own pace. Together with his students from the National University of Singapore, a series of visualizations were developed and consolidated, from simple sorting algorithms to complex graph data structures. Though specifically designed for the use of NUS students taking various data structure and algorithm classes , as advocators of online learning, we hope that curious minds around the world will find these visualizations useful as well.
Talk to Books was a new way to explore ideas and discover books. It was an innovative experiment by Google that harnessed the power of artificial intelligence to enhance the book search experience. Launched in 2018, it allowed users to engage in natural language conversations with a vast collection of over 100,000 books. By typing questions or statements, users could explore relevant passages and discover new ideas. The AI algorithm searched through sentences in these books, providing likely responses with the pertinent passages highlighted.

Visualizing Algorithms provides a fascinating use case for visualization. To visualize an algorithm, we don’t merely fit data to a chart; there is no primary dataset. Instead there are logical rules that describe behavior. This may be why algorithm visualizations are so unusual, as designers experiment with novel forms to better communicate.
